Eden Farm Equine Sanctuary, Inc. - Rescue and Lifetime Care for Abused and Unwanted Equines
     Board of Directors
President: Gayle Cooper
I have a long history with animals, mostly horses. An RN by profession, I work full time, evenings, to support the sanctuary. I also operate a new and consignment tack shop on the property (Cowboys'  Eden) to supplement the costs of maintaining the operation. I have been riding and learned about horses since I was 10 years old and have been involved in rescue efforts for many years. One of my first rescues has been with me for 25 years! In past years I have been a newspaper journalist, part time, for 4 Penna. newspapers, doing a column on animal care and ethics. I believe all life has value and try to incorporate my Christian beliefs as part of a core value system. I also believe many tragedies that befall our beloved equines come via human ignorance, so teaching is a large part of what I do to help. I think now, more than ever, so many people buy or adopt horses without a good background in handling or husbandry. Frustrated, they mis train and mishandle, and the horses suffer and are "given up". I think all experienced horsemen and woman have an obligation to intercede on behalf of all horses.
